Today the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was informed of the players’ decision to pull out of the remaining fixtures by the West Indies Cricket Board.
The teams were scheduled to play a five-match one-day international (ODI) series, a one-off Twenty20 international and three Test matches.
West Indies players have been in dispute with the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) over the signing of a new collective bargaining agreement and memorandum of understanding.
The agreement would have seen sponsorship payments reallocated to fund the professional game regionally.
India’s cricket authorities expressed shock and disappointment that today’s match in Dharamsala would be the last game.
