Some 1500 workers attached to the Port-of -Spain City Corporation may be facing a bleak holiday season this year as they have received word that they may not be paid in a timely manner.
This comes on the heels of news that City Corporation workers in the Southland are facing the same fate.
President of the Amalagamated Workers Union Michael Prentice- the Union representing the workers, has described the situation as unacceptable.
Speaking on TV6’s Morning Edition Programme this morning he said the workers carry several duties and their jobs are very demanding.
He said non-payment of workers will not be tolerated.
