Remembering the attempted July 27th 1990 Coup Leader of the Jamaat al Muslimeen, Yasin Abu Bakr said he did not give orders for any of his members to kill citizens during the insurgent.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast show on Power 102.1fm this morning, Abu Bakr said society and the generation now is out of control, whereby there is no focused leader to take charge of the young minds.

The Jamaat al Muslimeen leader said his team was released from jail based on an amnesty which allowed the President to exercise pardon on an individual to be released either before or after being charged.


Meanwhile businessman George Umbala Joseph who owned several Supermarkets in 1990, said he lost over $7M during the attempted Coup was not compensated.

Mr. Joseph said the incident affected his family as well as his well-being and he was forced to re-start work from the bottom up.
