Pakistani youth activist Malala Yousafzai is expected to visit Trinidad and Tobago at the end of this month.
She will be in this country following an invitation from the Minister of Tertiary Education, and Skills Training Fazal Karim.
Malala came to fame in 2012 after she was shot by Taliban extremists for her activism on the education of girls in her hometown in the Swat District of Pakistan.
Her visit will be part of the University of Trinidad and Tobago’s tenth anniversary celebration programme.
She has met Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan to press for more action to free at least 200 girls held by Boko Haram Islamist militants.
